How much does ISO 27001 cost in Spain?
For a company of 25 to 100 employees in Spain, consultancy fees for ISO 27001 usually fall between €15,000 and €35,000 in the first year. On top of that come the certification body fee, the time your own team spends on the project and any security measures you still need. ENS adds its own cost, depending on the category of your systems: Básica, Media or Alta. This free calculator from Qalea estimates the full first year cost for your company, compares three ways to do it and shows the certification body fee separately.
The calculator asks about your scope, your company and the measures you already have, and estimates the first year cost in euros. Your result covers:
Framework and scope
ISO 27001, ENS or both. The two share many controls, so a combined programme costs less than two separate ones.
Company size
More people, devices and processes mean a larger risk assessment, more evidence and longer audits.
ENS category
Básica, Media or Alta, depending on the impact an incident would have. Higher categories need more controls and a certification audit.
What you already have
Approved policies, a documented risk assessment and regular internal audits reduce the work still to do.
Security measures you are missing
Awareness training, phishing simulations, device management, EDR, a password manager, vulnerability scanning or a penetration test, usually priced per user, per device or per year.
How you run the project
An external consultant, a compliance platform or your own team. Each route moves cost between external fees and internal hours.
Deadlines matter too: a project that has to finish in less than three months usually needs more people working in parallel, which raises the cost.
The estimate adds one cost line per answer, using market ranges for Spain in 2026:
Company size and ENS category scale the effort, and the measures you already have reduce it. Figures are indicative, exclude VAT and do not replace a quote.
Who it is for: CEOs, CTOs, IT and security leads, and compliance owners at SMEs and midsize companies planning ISO 27001, ENS or both, who need a realistic budget before talking to providers.
Qalea works alongside your team across processes, people and infrastructure, so you have someone in charge of your security who answers to you.
How much does ISO 27001 certification cost?
For SMEs in Spain, consultancy fees for the first year usually fall between €15,000 and €35,000. On top of that come the certification body fee, the time your team spends on the project and any security measures you still need. The total depends mainly on company size, scope and what you already have in place.
How much does the ISO 27001 certification audit cost?
The certification body charges for audit days, which depend on the number of employees and the scope. For SMEs, the initial certification audit usually costs between €3,000 and €15,000. Surveillance audits follow in the second and third years, and the certificate is renewed with a recertification audit every three years.
How much does ENS certification cost?
It depends on the category of your systems. Category Básica can be covered with an internal assessment (autoevaluación) and a declaration of conformity. Categories Media and Alta need a certification audit by an accredited body, which usually costs between €3,000 and €8,000, plus the cost of adapting your systems to the ENS controls.
Do I need ISO 27001, ENS or both?
The ENS is mandatory for Spanish public sector bodies and for the companies that provide them with services or solutions within its scope. ISO 27001 is voluntary and often requested by private clients, in Spain and abroad. Companies that sell to both often need both, and because the two share many controls, a combined programme costs less than running them separately.
Why does the calculator count internal hours?
Because they are a real cost. Even with a consultant, your team spends time on interviews, policies, evidence and audits. The calculator values those hours at €35 per hour, so routes with low fees but many internal hours are compared fairly.
Is the certification body fee included in the estimate?
No. It appears separately because you pay it directly to the certification body, whichever route you choose. It is not part of a Qalea offer.
How can I reduce the cost?
Mainly by reusing what you already have. Approved policies, a documented risk assessment and internal audits reduce the work, and covering ISO 27001 and ENS in one programme avoids implementing the shared controls twice.
Is the result a quote?
No. It is an indicative estimate based on your answers and on market prices in Spain in October 2026. For a figure for your exact scope, request a price estimate from Qalea.
